भीष्मस्वप्न-स्मृत्युपाख्यानम् | Bhīṣma’s Dream-Linked Recollection of the Paraśurāma Combat

यदैव हि वन प्रायात्‌ सा कन्या तपसे धृता । तदैव व्यथितो दीनो गतचेता इवाभवम्‌,जिस दिन वह कन्या तपस्याका निश्चय करके वनमें गयी, उसी दिन मैं व्यथित, दीन और अचेत-सा हो गया

yadaiva hi vana-prāyāt sā kanyā tapase dhṛtā | tadaiva vyathito dīno gata-ceta iva abhavam ||

ในวันนั้นเองที่นางกุมารีตั้งจิตมั่นในตบะแล้วออกสู่ป่า ในวันเดียวกันนั้นเราก็เศร้าระทมและอ่อนแรง—ประหนึ่งผู้สิ้นสติไป
