त एव मां महाराज स्वप्रदर्शनमेत्य वै | परिवारयत्रिवन्‌ वाक्य तन्निबोध कुरूद्गबह,राजेन्द्र! ऐसी प्रार्थना करके बाणोंसे क्षत-विक्षत हुआ मैं रात्रिके अन्तमें प्रभातके समय दाहिनी करवटसे सो गया। महाराज! कुरुश्रेष्ठ! तत्पश्चात्‌ जिन ब्राह्मणशिरोमणियोंने रथसे गिरनेपर मुझे थाम लिया और उठाया था तथा “डरो मत” ऐसा कहकर सान्त्वना दी थी, उन्हीं लोगोंने मुझे सपनेमें दर्शन दे मेरे चारों ओर खड़े होकर जो बात कही थी, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो--

ta eva māṃ mahārāja svapradarśanam etya vai | parivārya trivan vākyaṃ tan nibodha kurūdgvaha ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่มหาราช ฤๅษีพราหมณ์เหล่านั้นเองได้มาปรากฏแก่ข้าในความฝัน แสดงตนและยืนล้อมรอบข้าไว้ บัดนี้ โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐแห่งวงศ์กุรุ จงฟังถ้อยคำที่พวกเขากล่าวเถิด”
