Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
राम उवाच स्मराम्यहं पूर्वकृतां प्रतिज्ञामृषिसत्तम | तथैव च चरिष्यामि यथा साम्नैव लप्स्यते,परशुरामजी बोले--मुनिश्रेष्ठ! मुझे अपनी पहलेकी की हुई प्रतिज्ञाका स्मरण है, तथापि मैं ऐसा प्रयत्न करूँगा कि सामनीतिसे ही काम बन जाय
rāma uvāca smarāmy ahaṃ pūrvakṛtāṃ pratijñām ṛṣisattama | tathaiva ca cariṣyāmi yathā sāmnaiva lapsyate ||
รามะกล่าวว่า “โอ้ ฤๅษีผู้ประเสริฐ! ข้ายังระลึกถึงปฏิญาณที่ข้าได้ทำไว้แต่ก่อน ถึงกระนั้น ข้าจักดำเนินการให้เรื่องนี้สำเร็จด้วยหนทางแห่งการประนีประนอม (สามะ) เท่านั้น”
