भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्

योत्स्येते बलिनौ शूरौ परं शक््त्या क्षयिष्यत: । पाण्डवोंके लिये महान् पराक्रम करनेवाले बलवान् शूरवीर अज और भोज दोनों महारथी हैं। वे सम्पूर्ण शक्ति लगाकर युद्ध करेंगे और अपने पुरुषार्थका परिचय देंगे ।। १२ £ शीघ्रास्त्राश्षित्रयोद्धार: कृतिनो दृढविक्रमा:,राजेन्द्र! शीघ्रतापूर्वक अस्त्र चलानेवाले, विचित्र योद्धा, युद्धकालमें निपुण और दृढ़ पराक्रमी जो पाँच भाई केकयराजकुमार हैं, वे सभी उदार रथी माने गये हैं। उन सबकी ध्वजा लाल रंगकी है
