ब॒हस्पतिर्वाच मानुषो नहुषो राजा देवर्षिगणतेजसा । देवराज्यमनुप्राप्त: सर्वान्‌ नो बाधते भृूशम्‌,बृहस्पति बोले--देवेन्द्र! मनुष्य-लोकका राजा नहुष देवर्षियोंके प्रभावसे देवताओंका राज्य पा गया है, जो हम सब लोगोंको बड़ा कष्ट दे रहा है

Bṛhaspatir uvāca mānuṣo Nahuṣo rājā devarṣi-gaṇa-tejasā | devarājyam anuprāptaḥ sarvān no bādhate bhṛśam ||

พระพฤหัสบดีตรัสว่า “ข้าแต่เทวราช! นหุษะ กษัตริย์แห่งมนุษยโลก ได้อาศัยรัศมีฤทธิ์แห่งหมู่เทวฤๅษีจนบรรลุราชสมบัติแห่งสวรรค์ และบัดนี้เขากดขี่พวกเราทั้งปวงอย่างหนักหน่วง”
