Droṇa–Vidura–Gāndhārī Counsel in the Royal Assembly (धर्मार्थयुक्ता सभा-उपदेश-प्रकरणम्)
ऊर्ध्वरेता हरराजा च कुलस्यार्थे पुन: पुन: । विशेषतस्त्वदर्थ च धुरि मा मां नियोजय
ūrdhvaretaḥ hararājā ca kulasyārthe punaḥ punaḥ | viśeṣatas tvadarthe ca dhuri mā māṃ niyojaya ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา เพื่อประโยชน์แห่งราชวงศ์นี้ และโดยเฉพาะเพื่อพระองค์ ข้าพเจ้าได้ปฏิญาณซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าว่าจะถือพรหมจรรย์ตลอดชีวิตและละทิ้งความเป็นกษัตริย์ ดังนั้น ขออย่าแต่งตั้งข้าพเจ้าให้แบกรับภาระแห่งราชบัลลังก์เลย”
