उदयास्तमने संध्ये वेदयन्ती महद्धयम्‌ । शिवा च वाशते घोरं तत्‌ पराभवलक्षणम्‌

udayāstamane sandhye vedayantī mahad bhayam | śivā ca vāśate ghoraṁ tat parābhava-lakṣaṇam ||

สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ยามสนธยา ทั้งคราวอาทิตย์ขึ้นและอาทิตย์ตก สุนัขจิ้งจอกตัวหนึ่งร้องโหยหวนด้วยเสียงน่าหวาดผวา ประหนึ่งประกาศมหาภัย นี่ก็เป็นลางแห่งความปราชัย”
