कर्ण–कृष्णसंवादः (Karṇa–Kṛṣṇa-saṃvādaḥ) — Karṇa’s Statement on Lineage, Loyalty, and the ‘Śastra-yajña’ Metaphor

सो5सि कर्ण तथा जात: पाण्डो: पुत्रोडसि धर्मतः । निग्रहाद्‌ धर्मशास्त्राणामेहि राजा भविष्यसि,कर्ण! तुम्हारा जन्म भी इसी प्रकार हुआ है; (तुम कुन्तीके ही कन्यावस्थामें उत्पन्न हुए पुत्र हो) अतः तुम भी धर्मानुसार पाण्डुके ही पुत्र हो। इसलिये आओ, धर्मशास्त्रोंके निश्चयके अनुसार तुम्हीं राजा होओगे

so 'si karṇa tathā jātaḥ pāṇḍoḥ putro 'si dharmataḥ | nigrahād dharmaśāstrāṇām ehi rājā bhaviṣyasi, karṇa ||

“โอ้กรรณะ เธอก็เกิดมาในลักษณะเดียวกัน ฉะนั้นตามบัญญัติแห่งธรรมะ เธอเป็นบุตรของปาณฑุ เพราะเหตุนั้นจงมาเถิด—ตามข้อยุติอันแน่นอนของธรรมศาสตรา เธอนั่นเองจักเป็นพระราชา”
