पृष्ठतो<नुव्रजन्तं वा का शान्तिहदयस्य मे । यदि मैं यह देखूँ कि तू शत्रुसे मीठी-मीठी बातें करता तथा उसके पीछे-पीछे जाता है तो मेरे हृदयमें क्या शान्ति मिलेगी?

pṛṣṭhato 'nuvrajantaṃ vā kā śāntir hṛdayasya me | yadi māṃ etad dṛśyāt ki tvaṃ śatruse mīṭhī-mīṭhī bātẽ karatā tathā tasya pṛṣṭhataḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ gacchasi iti, tarhi mama hṛdaye kā śāntiḥ syāt ||

“หรือหากข้าเห็นว่าเจ้าพูดจาอ่อนหวานประนีประนอมกับศัตรู แล้วเดินตามหลังเขาไป—หัวใจของข้าจะมีสันติได้อย่างไร? ใจของข้าจะสงบลงได้อย่างไรเล่า?”
