शल्य उवाच एवमुक्ते मघवता देवा: सर्षिगणास्तदा । शरण्यं शरण देवं जम्मुर्विष्णुं महाबलम्‌,शल्य बोले--राजन्‌! इन्द्रके ऐसा कहनेपर ऋषियोंसहित सम्पूर्ण देवता सबके शरणदाता अत्यन्त बलशाली भगवान्‌ विष्णुकी शरणमें गये

śalya uvāca evam ukte maghavatā devāḥ sarṣigaṇās tadā | śaraṇyaṃ śaraṇaṃ devaṃ jagmur viṣṇuṃ mahābalam ||

ศัลยะกล่าวว่า—ข้าแต่พระราชา! เมื่อมฆวาน (อินทร์) ตรัสดังนั้นแล้ว เหล่าเทวดาทั้งปวงพร้อมหมู่ฤๅษี ก็พากันไปพึ่งพระวิษณุ ผู้เป็นที่พึ่งของสรรพชีวิต และทรงมหาพลานุภาพ
