हन्त यत् ते प्रवक्ष्यामि तच्छुणुष्व समाहित: । ऋषीणां देवतानां च सम्भवं वसुधातले,अब मैं इस भूतलपर ऋषियों और देवताओंके प्रादुर्भावके विषयमें प्रसन्नतापूर्वक तुम्हें जो कुछ बताता हूँ, उसे एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुनो
hanta yat te pravakṣyāmi tac chṛṇuṣva samāhitaḥ | ṛṣīṇāṃ devatānāṃ ca sambhavaṃ vasudhātale ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “มาเถิด—จงฟังด้วยจิตที่ตั้งมั่น ข้าจะเล่าด้วยความชัดเจนและด้วยไมตรี ถึงการอุบัติและกำเนิดของเหล่าฤๅษีและเทพทั้งหลายบนพื้นพิภพนี้”
