Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)

नित्यसिद्ध मोक्षस्वरूप भगवान्‌ कृष्णद्वैपायनने धर्मकी कामनासे इस महाभारतसंदर्भकी रचना की है ।।

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

ṣaṣṭiṁ śata-sahasrāṇi cakārānyāṁ sa saṁhitām |

triṁśac-chata-sahasrāṇi deva-loke pratiṣṭhitam |

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “พระกฤษณทไวปายนะ ผู้เป็นโมกษะสวรูปอันสำเร็จอยู่เนืองนิตย์ ได้รจนาสำนวนมหาภารตะนี้ด้วยความปรารถนาในธรรมะ. ท่านได้ทำสังหิตาไว้ก่อนเป็นหกล้านโศลก; ในจำนวนนั้น สามล้านโศลกได้ตั้งมั่นและแพร่หลายในเทวโลก”
