सर्व पञ्चभिराविष्ट भूतैरी श्वरबुद्धिभि: । वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--प्रजानाथ! इस जगत्‌में जितने प्राणी हैं, वे सब ईश्वरके संकल्पसे उत्पन्न हुए पाँच महाभूतोंसे युक्त हैं

sarve pañcabhir āviṣṭā bhūtair īśvarabuddhibhiḥ |

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นใหญ่แห่งปวงประชา สรรพสัตว์ทั้งหลายในโลกนี้ล้วนถูกแผ่ซ่านและประกอบขึ้นด้วยมหาภูตทั้งห้า ซึ่งบังเกิดจากพระสังกัลปะอันมุ่งหมายของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า”
