Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

मुझसे सुरक्षित होकर तुमने महाभारत युद्धमें महान्‌ विजय प्राप्त की है। कुन्तीनन्दन! युद्ध उपस्थित होनेपर जो पुरुष तुम्हारे आगे-आगे चलते थे, उन्हें तुम जटाजूटधारी देवाधिदेव रुद्र समझो। उन्हींको मैंने तुमसे क्रोधद्वारा उत्पन्न बताया है। वे ही काल कहे गये हैं ।। निहतास्तेन वै पूर्व हतवानसि यान्‌ रिपून्‌ । अप्रमेयप्रभावं तं देवदेवमुमापतिम्‌ । नमस्व देवं प्रयतो विश्वेशं हरमक्षयम्‌

nihatās tena vai pūrvaṁ hatavān asi yān ripūn | aprameya-prabhāvaṁ taṁ deva-devam umā-patim | namasva devaṁ prayato viśveśaṁ haram akṣayam ||

ศัตรูที่ท่านสังหารนั้น แท้จริงถูกผู้นั้นประหารไว้ก่อนแล้ว จงนอบน้อมด้วยจิตสำรวมแด่เทพเหนือเทพ ผู้มีฤทธานุภาพหาประมาณมิได้—อุมา ปติ ผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งสากลโลก หระผู้ไม่เสื่อมสูญ
