Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

आवयो: सहसागच्छद्‌ बदर्याश्रममन्तिकात्‌ । रुद्रने क्रोधपूर्वक अपने प्रज्वलित त्रिशूलका बारंबार प्रयोग किया। वह त्रिशूल दक्षके विस्तृत यज्ञको भस्म करके सहसा बदरिकाश्रममें हम दोनों (नर और नारायण) के निकट आ पहुँचा

āvayoḥ sahasāgacchad badaryāśramam antikāt | rudreṇa krodhapūrvakaṁ prajvalita-triśūlasya bāraṁbāraṁ prayogaḥ kṛtaḥ | sa triśūlo dakṣasya vistṛta-yajñaṁ bhasmīkṛtya sahasā badaryāśrame asmākaṁ dvayoḥ (nara-nārāyaṇayoḥ) nikaṭam ājagāma |

มันพุ่งตรงมาอย่างฉับพลันจากที่ใกล้ ๆ มุ่งสู่บทราบดีอาศรม. ด้วยความพิโรธ รุทระได้ขว้างตรีศูลอันลุกโพลงซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า. ตรีศูลนั้นเผาผลาญยัชญะอันกว้างใหญ่ของทักษะให้เป็นเถ้าถ่าน แล้วก็แล่นฉับไวมาถึงบทราบดีอาศรม เข้าใกล้เราทั้งสอง—นระและนารายณะ.
