गरुत्मानथ विक्षिप्य पक्षौ मारुतवेगवान् | विवेश विवरं भूमेर्यत्रास्ते पार्थिवो वसु:,यह आज्ञा पाकर वायुके समान वेगशाली गरुड अपने दोनों पंख फैलाकर उड़े और पातालमें जहाँ राजा वसु विराजमान थे, घुस गये

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “แล้วครุฑผู้รวดเร็วประหนึ่งสายลมก็กางปีกโผบิน ครั้นรับบัญชาแล้ว เขาเข้าสู่รอยแยกแห่งแผ่นดินนั้น ลงไปยังใต้พิภพซึ่งพระราชาวสุประทับอยู่”
