अध्याय ३३७ — ज्ञानमार्ग-वैविध्यप्रश्नः तथा व्यासस्य नारायणोद्भवकथा

सम्भूता: सर्वसम्भारास्तस्मिन् राजन् महाक्रतौ । न तत्र पशुघातो5भूत् स राजैवं स्थितो5भवत्
sambhūtāḥ sarva-sambhārās tasmin rājan mahā-kratau | na tatra paśu-ghāto 'bhūt sa rājā evaṃ sthito 'bhavat ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา ในมหายัญนั้นได้รวบรวมเครื่องบูชาทั้งปวงครบถ้วนแล้ว; กระนั้นก็มิได้มีการฆ่าสัตว์แม้แต่น้อย พระเจ้าอุปริจระทรงตั้งมั่นอยู่ในพิธีด้วยเจตนาเดียวกันนี้—เพื่อธำรงยัญที่ชอบธรรมและตั้งอยู่บนอหิงสา”
