Adhyāya 325: Nārada in Śvetadvīpa—Stotra to the Nirguṇa Mahātman
āraṇeyas tu śuddhātmā niḥsaṃdehaḥ svakarmakṛt
The verse affirms that inner purity (śuddhātmā) is evidenced by faithfully performing one’s own rightful duties (svakarma). Ethical worth is linked to steadfast adherence to dharma rather than mere claims or reputation.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction within the Śānti Parva, he characterizes Āraṇeya as unquestionably virtuous, emphasizing his proven conduct—he has carried out his proper obligations—thereby supporting the broader discussion on dharma and right action.
