सांख्ये त्विदानीं कार्त्स्न्येन विधि प्रब्रूहि पृच्छते । त्रिषु लोकेषु यज्ज्ञानं सर्व तद्‌ विदितं हि ते,अब मैं सांख्यविषयक सम्पूर्ण विधि पूछ रहा हूँ। आप मुझे उसे बतानेकी कृपा करें; क्योंकि तीनों लोकोंमें जो ज्ञान है, वह सब आपको विदित है

sāṅkhye tv idānīṁ kārtsnyena vidhiṁ prabrūhi pṛcchate | triṣu lokeṣu yaj jñānaṁ sarvaṁ tad viditaṁ hi te ||

บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าขอถามถึงวิธีการและหลักคำสอนแห่งสางขยะโดยครบถ้วน โปรดเมตตาอธิบายให้ข้าพเจ้าฟังเถิด เพราะความรู้ทั้งปวงที่มีอยู่ในสามโลกนั้น ย่อมเป็นที่ประจักษ์แก่ท่านแล้ว
