Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)
tato brahmādayo devā dakṣaśnaiva prajāpatiḥ
The verse signals that matters of dharma and cosmic governance are not merely personal or social concerns; they are overseen by higher principles personified as Brahmā and the gods, who represent legitimate authority and the maintenance of order.
Dakṣa describes a moment when Brahmā and other gods, together with Dakṣa as Prajāpati, enter the scene—typically to observe, deliberate, or intervene, indicating a shift from ordinary action to a divinely supervised resolution.
