अथ देव्या मतं ज्ञात्वा हृद्गतं यच्चिकीर्षितम्‌ । स समाज्ञापयामास तिष्ठ त्वमिति नन्दिनम्‌,पार्ववीदेवीके मनमें क्या है और वे क्‍या करना चाहती हैं, इस बातको जानकर महादेवजीने नन्‍्दीको आज्ञा दी कि तुम यहीं खड़े रहो

atha devyā mataṁ jñātvā hṛd-gataṁ yac cikīrṣitam | sa samājñāpayāmāsa tiṣṭha tvam iti nandinam ||

ครั้นแล้วเมื่อทรงหยั่งรู้เจตนารมณ์ของพระเทวี—สิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ในพระหฤทัยและสิ่งที่ทรงประสงค์จะกระทำ—มหาเทวะจึงมีบัญชาแก่นันทินว่า “จงยืนอยู่ ณ ที่นี้”
