अनेन ते महाभाग प्रतिषेधेन भागत: । अतीव दु:खमुत्पन्नं वेपथुश्न ममानघ,उमाने कहा--भगवन्‌! आप समस्त प्राणियोंमें सबसे अधिक प्रभावशाली, गुणवान्‌, अजेय, अधृष्य, तेजस्वी, यशस्वी तथा श्रीसम्पन्न हैं। महाभाग! यज्ञमें जो इस प्रकार आपको भाग देनेका निषेध किया गया है, इससे मुझे बड़ा दुःख हुआ है। अनघ! इस अपमानसे मेरा सारा शरीर काँप रहा है

anena te mahābhāga pratiṣedhena bhāgataḥ | atīva duḥkham utpannaṃ vepathuś ca mamānagha ||

พระอุมา ทูลว่า “โอ มหาภาคะ การห้ามมิให้ถวายส่วนแบ่งของพระองค์ในยัญพิธีเช่นนี้ ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าทุกข์ยิ่งนัก โอ ผู้ปราศจากมลทิน ด้วยความหมิ่นประมาทนี้ กายของข้าพเจ้าสั่นสะท้านไปทั้งสิ้น”
