Viṣṇor Māhātmya and Indriya-saṃyama (विष्णोर्माहात्म्यं तथा इन्द्रियसंयमः)

स तु बद्धाञज्जलिं सत्यमयाचद्धरिण: पुनः । सत्येन स परिष्वज्य संदिष्टो गम्पतामिति,सत्य सावित्रीदेवीकी ओर हाथ जोड़कर खड़ा था। इतनेहीमें उस हरिणने पुनः अपनी आहुति देनेके लिये याचना की। सत्यने मृगको हृदयसे लगा लिया और बड़े प्यारसे कहा --तुम यहाँसे चले जाओ'

sa tu baddhāñjaliṃ satyam ayācad dhariṇaḥ punaḥ | satyena sa pariṣvajya saṃdiṣṭo gampatām iti ||

สัตยมยืนประนมมือด้วยความเคารพ แล้ววิงวอนกวางนั้นอีกครั้ง แต่กวางกลับขออีกหนให้ตนถูกถวายเป็นอาหุติ สัตยมจึงโอบกวางไว้แนบใจ แล้วกล่าวด้วยความเอ็นดูแต่หนักแน่นว่า “จงไปจากที่นี่เถิด”
