अथान्तरिक्षे वागासीत्‌ तां च शुश्राव जाजलि: । धर्मेण न समस्त्वं वै तुलाधारस्य जाजले,इतनेहीमें आकाशवाणी- हुई--“जाजले! तुम धर्ममें तुलाधारके समान नहीं हो, काशीपुरीमें महाज्ञानी तुलाधार वैश्य प्रतिष्ठित हैं। विप्रवर! वे तुलाधार भी ऐसी बात नहीं कह सकते, जैसी तुम कह रहे हो।' जाजलिने उस आकाशवाणीको सुना

Transliteration

athāntarikṣe vāg āsīt tāṃ ca śuśrāva jājaliḥ | dharmeṇa na samas tvaṃ vai tulādhārasya jājale ||

Translation

บัดนั้นมีเสียงดังขึ้นในเวหา และชาชาลีได้ยินว่า “โอ ชาชาลี ในทางธรรมเจ้ายังไม่เสมอด้วยตุลาธาระ ที่นครกาศีมีพ่อค้าไวศยะผู้รู้ยิ่งนามตุลาธาระอยู่ โอพราหมณ์ผู้ประเสริฐ แม้ตุลาธาระก็ยังไม่กล่าวถ้อยคำเช่นที่เจ้ากล่าวอยู่”
