अहिंसा-प्रधान धर्मविचारः

तामधर्मभयादू भीतां पुनरेव प्रयाचतीम्‌ । तदाब्रवीद्‌ देवदेवो निगृहोदं वचस्तत:,अधर्मके भयसे डरकर पुनः कृपाकी भीख माँगती हुई मृत्युको रोककर देवाधिदेव ब्रह्माने उससे यह बात कही--

tām adharmabhayād bhītāṃ punar eva prayācatīm | tadābravīd devadevo nigṛhya idaṃ vacas tataḥ ||

ครั้นมัจจุหวาดหวั่นด้วยความกลัวต่ออธรรม และยังวิงวอนขอความกรุณาอีกครั้ง เทวาธิเทพพรหมาจึงทรงยับยั้งนางไว้ แล้วตรัสถ้อยคำดังนี้
