Ātma-saṃyama-dharma: One-pointedness of Mind and Senses (शुक–व्यास संवादः)

लोक वृत्तान्ततत्त्वज्ञ: पूतो5हं गुरुशासनात्‌ । कृत्वा बुद्धि विमुक्तात्मा द्रक्ष्याम्पात्मानमव्ययम्‌,मैं आप-जैसे गुरुके उपदेशसे पवित्र हो गया हूँ तथा मुझे जगतके वृत्तान्त (लौकिक नीति-रीति) का भी ज्ञान हो गया है; अतः धर्माचरणसे बुद्धिका संस्कार करके स्थूल देहका अभिमान त्यागकर अपने अविनाशीस्वरूप परमात्माका दर्शन करूँगा

loka-vṛttānta-tattvajñaḥ pūto 'haṃ guru-śāsanāt | kṛtvā buddhiṃ vimuktātmā drakṣyāmy ātmānam avyayam ||

ด้วยคำสอนของครูผู้ประเสริฐ ข้าพเจ้าบริสุทธิ์แล้ว และได้รู้หลักแท้แห่งจารีตและความประพฤติในโลก ครั้นแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าจะขัดเกลาปัญญาด้วยวินัยแห่งธรรม สลัดความยึดมั่นในกายหยาบ และจักประจักษ์แจ้งอาตมันอันไม่เสื่อมสลายของตน
