तथा धर्मादपेतेन कर्मणा गह्ितेन ये । महतः प्राप्तुवन्त्यर्थास्तिषां तत्राभवत् स्पृहा,धर्मके विपरीत निन्दित कर्मद्वारा जिन्हें महान् धन प्राप्त हो गया है, उनकी उसी प्रकार धनोपार्जन करनेकी अभिलाषा बढ़ गयी है
tathā dharmādapetena karmaṇā garhitena ye | mahataḥ prāptuvanty arthās tiṣāṃ tatrābhavat spṛhā ||
ฉันนั้น ผู้ใดได้ทรัพย์มหาศาลด้วยการกระทำอันน่าติเตียนซึ่งหลุดจากธรรม ผู้นั้นย่อมเกิดความทะยานอยากยิ่งขึ้นที่จะสั่งสมด้วยวิธีเดิมนั้นเอง
