भीष्म उवाच एवमुक्तो भगवता महेन्द्र: पृथिवीं तदा । चचारैरावतस्कन्धमधिरुहा[ू श्रिया वृत:
bhīṣma uvāca evam ukto bhagavatā mahendraḥ pṛthivīṃ tadā | cacāra airāvataskandham adhiruhya śriyā vṛtaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—ครั้นได้รับพระบัญชาจากพระผู้เป็นเจ้า (พรหมา) ดังนั้นแล้ว มเหนทร (อินทร) ก็ทรงขึ้นประทับบนหลังไอราวตะ และเสด็จดำเนินไปทั่วพิภพ เปล่งประกายด้วยศรีแห่งราชสมบัติ
