Svapna–Manas–Guṇa–Brahma-vicāra
ततो<गच्छत् विस्मयं ते दानवेन्द्रा भयं तथा । संशयं गतमात्मानं मेनिरे च सहस्रश:,इससे उन दानवेन्द्रोंकी बड़ा विस्स्मथ और भय प्राप्त हुआ। वे सहस्रों दैत्य अपने आपको जीवनके संशयमें पड़ा हुआ मानने लगे
tato ’gacchat vismayaṁ te dānavendrā bhayaṁ tathā | saṁśayaṁ gatam ātmānaṁ menire ca sahasraśaḥ ||
แล้วบรรดาจอมทัพทานวะก็ถูกความพิศวงและความหวาดกลัวครอบงำ เหล่าไทตยะนับพันต่างคิดว่าชีวิตของตนตกอยู่ในความกังขา—จะรอดหรือไม่รอด
भीष्म उवाच
Power and dominance do not guarantee inner security; when circumstances shift, those grounded in arrogance or violence can quickly fall into fear and life-threatening uncertainty. The verse underscores the ethical idea that adharma breeds instability and anxiety.
Bhīṣma describes a moment when the Dānava leaders are suddenly overwhelmed by wonder and fear. In great numbers they believe their own lives are in doubt, indicating a dramatic reversal that shakes their confidence.
