Adhyāya 199: Karma–Jñāna Causality and the Nirguṇa Brahman

Manu’s Instruction

तपांसि यानि चीर्णानि चरिष्यन्ति च यत्‌ तप: । शतै: शतसहसैश्व तै: सत्यान्न विशिष्यते,लोगोंने अबतक जितनी तपस्याएँ की हैं और भविष्यमें भी जितनी करेंगे, उन सबको सौगुना या लाखगुना करके एकत्र किया जाय तो भी उनका महत्त्व सत्यसे बढ़कर नहीं सिद्ध होगा

tapāṁsi yāni cīrṇāni cariṣyanti ca yat tapaḥ | śataiḥ śata-sahasraiś ca taiḥ satyān na viśiṣyate ||

พราหมณ์กล่าวว่า ตบะทั้งปวงที่ผู้คนได้บำเพ็ญมาแล้วในกาลก่อน และตบะทั้งปวงที่จักบำเพ็ญในกาลหน้า ต่อให้รวบรวมทั้งหมดแล้วทวีคูณเป็นร้อยเท่าหรือแสนเท่า คุณค่าก็มิอาจยิ่งไปกว่าความยิ่งใหญ่แห่งสัจจะได้
