मानसं सर्वभूतानां धर्ममाहुर्मनीषिण: । तस्मात्‌ सर्वेषु भूतेषु मनसा शिवमाचरेत्‌,मनीषी पुरुषोंका कथन है कि समस्त प्राणियोंके लिये मनद्वारा किया हुआ धर्म ही श्रेष्ठ है; अतः मनसे सम्पूर्ण जीवोंका कल्याण सोचता रहे

mānasaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ dharmam āhur manīṣiṇaḥ | tasmāt sarveṣu bhūteṣu manasā śivam ācaret ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—บัณฑิตทั้งหลายประกาศว่า สำหรับสรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวง ธรรมที่กระทำด้วยใจเป็นธรรมอันสูงสุด เพราะฉะนั้นต่อสัตว์ทั้งหลาย จงประพฤติความเป็นมงคลด้วยใจ—ตั้งจิตปรารถนาความเกษมแก่เขา
