इत्येतल्लोकनिर्माणं ब्रह्मणा विहितं पुरा । प्रजा: समनुवर्तन्ते स्वै: स्वै:ः कर्मभिरावृता:,पूर्वकालमें ब्रह्माजीने इस स्त्री-पुरुषस्वरूप जगत्‌की सृष्टि की थी। यहाँ समस्त प्रजा अपने-अपने कर्मोंसे आवृत होकर सुख-दुःखका अनुभव करती है

ity etal loka-nirmāṇaṃ brahmaṇā vihitaṃ purā | prajāḥ samanuvartante svaiḥ svaiḥ karmabhir āvṛtāḥ |

ดังนี้ ในกาลดึกดำบรรพ์ พระพรหมาได้ทรงวางระเบียบและการก่อรูปแห่งโลกทั้งหลายไว้แล้ว สรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวงถูกคลุมด้วยกรรมของตน ๆ จึงดำเนินไปตามกรรมนั้น และเสวยประสบการณ์แห่งสุขและทุกข์
