धर्मसूक्ष्मे त्यागप्रधान्यविचारः
Subtle Dharma and the Primacy of Renunciation
पार्थ यान्न विजानीम: कस्तान् ज्ञातुमिहाहति । एवं प्राज्ञा: श्रुताश्नापि महान्तः शास्त्रवित्तमा:,पार्थ! जिन विद्वानोंको हम नहीं जान पाते हैं, उन्हें कोई साधारण मनुष्य कैसे जान सकता है? इस प्रकार शास्त्रोंके अच्छे-अच्छे ज्ञाता एवं महान् विद्वान् सुननेमें आये हैं (जिनको पहचानना बड़ा कठिन है)
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | pārtha yān na vijānīmaḥ kas tān jñātum ihārhati | evaṃ prājñāḥ śrutāś cāpi mahāntaḥ śāstravittamāḥ ||
โอ ปารถะ! ผู้ที่แม้แต่เรายังมิอาจรู้จักได้อย่างแท้จริง ที่นี่ใครเล่าจะเหมาะสมพอจะรู้จักเขา? ด้วยเหตุนี้ จึงมีแต่คำเล่าขานถึงบรรดาปราชญ์ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ ผู้ชำนาญศาสตรา ทว่าเกียรติคุณที่แท้จริงของเขายากจะหยั่งรู้
