तदनन्तर काश्यपने इन्द्रदेवका पूजन किया और उनकी आज्ञा लेकर वे पुनः अपने घरको लौट गये ।। इति श्रीमहाभारते शान्तिपर्वणि मोक्षधर्मपर्वणि शृुगालकाश्यपसंवादे अशीत्यधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
tadanantaraṁ kāśyapena indradevakaḥ pūjitaḥ, tasya cājñāṁ gṛhītvā te punaḥ svagṛhaṁ pratyāgacchan. iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi mokṣadharmaparvaṇi śṛgālakāśyapasaṁvāde aśītyadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ.
ต่อจากนั้น กาศยปะได้บูชาอินทรเทวกะ และเมื่อได้รับอนุญาตแล้ว จึงกลับไปยังเรือนของตนอีกครั้ง ดังนี้แล จบอธยายที่หนึ่งร้อยแปดสิบ ในศานติปรวะ หมวดโมกษธรรม แห่งมหาภารตะ ว่าด้วยบทสนทนาระหว่างสุนัขจิ้งจอกกับกาศยปะ—เป็นอันปิดฉากเหตุการณ์นี้ด้วยคติว่า ควรแสดงความเคารพ ปฏิบัติตามธรรมเนียมอันถูกต้อง และรับอนุญาตจากผู้ควรเคารพก่อนจึงค่อยจากไปและกลับคืนสู่ชีวิตสามัญ
