Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)
स्वभावादेव संदृश्या वर्तमाना: प्रवृत्तय: । स्वभावनिरता: सर्वाः परितुष्येन्न केनचित्
svabhāvādeva saṃdṛśyā vartamānāḥ pravṛttayaḥ | svabhāvaniratāḥ sarvāḥ parituṣyenna kenacit ||
พึงเข้าใจว่า ความประพฤติที่ปรากฏในสรรพสัตว์ ณ ปัจจุบัน ย่อมเกิดจากสภาวะนิสัยของตนเอง ซึ่งถูกหล่อหลอมด้วยกรรมก่อน ๆ สรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวงย่อมหมกมุ่นอยู่ในนิสัยของตน และไม่มีที่พึ่งอื่น เมื่อรู้ความลึกซึ้งนี้แล้ว มนุษย์ไม่ควรหลงติดอยู่ในความพอใจตนในสภาพใด ๆ
