Adhyāya 178 — The courses of prāṇa-vāyu and the regulation of the bodily fire
tayōḥ samprāptayōruṣṭaḥ skandhadēśam amarṣaṇaḥ | utthāyōtkṣipya tau damyau prasasāra mahājavaḥ ||
The verse illustrates how intolerance and anger, once triggered, can quickly escalate into harmful action against weaker beings; it implicitly supports the dharmic ideal of restraint (dama) and compassion.
Two calves come close to the camel’s shoulder/neck area; the camel cannot bear it, becomes enraged, stands up, lifts the two calves, and runs off swiftly.
