This line is a colophon marking the conclusion of a chapter within the Āpaddharma teachings, framed through the “Kṛtaghna-upākhyāna,” highlighting that ethical instruction is being conveyed via an illustrative tale—especially concerning the vice of ingratitude and the standards of right conduct under distress.
The text is not advancing the story events; it is formally closing the chapter, identifying its placement: Śānti Parva → Āpaddharma section → the sub-episode called Kṛtaghna-upākhyāna, and stating that this is the 170th chapter.
