Śānti-parva 168: Śoka-nivṛtti-buddhi (The Cognition that Reduces Grief) and Piṅgalā’s Nairāśya

एतदेवाभिपद्यस्व मा ते5भूच्चलितं मन: । एतन्मूलौ हि धर्माथवितदेकपदं हि मे,युधिष्ठिर! तुम इन्हींको प्राप्त करो। इनकी ओरसे तुम्हारा मन विचलित नहीं होना चाहिये। धर्म और अर्थकी जड़ ये ही हैं। मेरे मतमें ये ही परम पद हैं

etad evābhipadyasva mā te 'bhūc calitaṁ manaḥ | etan-mūlau hi dharmārthau tad eka-padaṁ hi me, yudhiṣṭhira |

“โอ้ยุดิษฐิระ จงยึดสิ่งนี้เป็นหนทางเดียว อย่าให้จิตของเจ้าหวั่นไหวไปจากมัน เพราะธรรมและอรรถมีรากอยู่ที่นี่เอง ในความเห็นของเรา นี่แหละคือบรมสถาน”
