तमेकमसुरा: सर्वे सहस्नमिति मेनिरे । शीघ्रतापूर्वक पैर उठानेके कारण विचित्र गतिसे विचरण करनेवाले एकमात्र खड्गधारी रुद्रदेवको वे सब असुर सहस्रोंक समान समझने लगे
tam ekam asurāḥ sarve sahasram iti meṇire | śīghratā-pūrvaka-pada-uddhāna-kāraṇāt vicitra-gatyā vicaraṇa-śīlaṁ ekamātra-khaḍga-dhāriṇaṁ rudradevaṁ te sarve 'surāḥ sahasrāṇāṁ samam aśaṁsanta |
เหล่าอสูรทั้งปวงเห็นพระรุทระเพียงองค์เดียว—ทรงถือดาบ ก้าวเท้าเร็วด้วยลีลาประหลาดเพราะยกเท้าขึ้นอย่างฉับไว—ก็สำคัญผิดว่าพระองค์นั้นมีกำลังเทียบเท่าพันคน
