संकल्पाज्जायते काम: सेव्यमानो विवर्धते
saṅkalpāj jāyate kāmaḥ sevyamāno vivardhate
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—กามเกิดจากสังกัลปะ คือความตั้งใจแน่วแน่; เมื่อเสพและไล่ตามซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า ย่อมทวีแรงขึ้นไม่หยุด ในทางธรรม จิตที่ตั้งมั่นครั้งแรกเป็นเมล็ดแห่งตัณหา และความสมใจต่อเนื่องทำให้ตัณหานั้นกลายเป็นพันธนาการ บั่นทอนการครองตนและธรรมะ
