विभ्रमाल्लोकबाह्वानां द्वेष्यैर्वाक्यैरसम्मतै: । कुत्सा संजायते राजॉलल्लोकान प्रेक्ष्याभिशाम्यति
vibhramāl lokabāhyānāṃ dveṣyair vākyair asammataiḥ | kutsā saṃjāyate rājann al lokān prekṣyābhiśāmyati ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—ข้าแต่พระราชา เมื่อผู้ใดหลงสับสนเพราะถ้อยคำอันชิงชังและไม่น่าเชื่อถือของคนต่ำที่ถูกขับออกจากสังคมอันดี ย่อมเกิดนิสัยชอบติเตียนและกล่าวร้าย แต่เมื่อได้เห็นบัณฑิตผู้ประเสริฐ แนวโน้มนั้นย่อมสงบและระงับลง
