त्यक्त्वा कथं गच्छथेमं पद्मलोलायताक्षिकम्‌ | यथा नवोद्वाहकृतं स्नानमाल्यविभूषितम्‌

tyaktvā kathaṁ gacchathemaṁ padmalolāyatākṣikam | yathā navodvāhakṛtaṁ snānamālyavibhūṣitam |

เจ้าทั้งหลายจะทอดทิ้งเด็กน้อยผู้นี้ไปได้อย่างไร—ผู้มีดวงตากว้างและไหวระริกดุจดอกบัว? กายของเขาอาบน้ำใหม่และประดับพวงมาลัยดอกไม้ งามดุจเจ้าบ่าวผู้เพิ่งเข้าพิธีวิวาห์ แล้วเท้าของเจ้าจะยกก้าวจากไปได้อย่างไร เมื่อทิ้งเด็กผู้ชวนพิศวงเช่นนี้
