Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca

“तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। अब मैं चला जाऊँगा। मुझे दूरसे भी तुमसे डर लगता है। मेरा यह पलायन विश्वासपूर्वक हो रहा हो या प्रमादके कारण; इस समय यही मेरा कर्तव्य है। बलवानोंके निकट रहना दुर्बल प्राणीके लिये कभी अच्छा नहीं माना जाता ।।

nāhaṃ tvayā sameṣyāmi nivṛtto bhava lomaśa | yadi tvaṃ sukṛtaṃ vets(i) tat sakhyam anusāraya ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “เราจะไม่พบเจ้าอีกแล้ว จงกลับไปเถิด โอ้โลมศะ หากเจ้าระลึกว่เราได้ทำความดีใดแก่เจ้า ก็จงรักษาน้ำใจมิตรต่อเรา และประพฤติตามมิตรภาพนั้น”
