Kośa, Bala, and Maryādā: Treasury, Capacity, and Enforceable Limits (कोश-बल-मर्यादा)

क्षत्रिये संशय: कस्मादित्येवं॑ निश्चितं सदा । आददीत विशिष्टेभ्यो नावसीदेत्‌ कथंचन,फिर क्षत्रियके लिये कैसे संदेह किया जा सकता है? उसके लिये भी सदा यही निश्चित है कि वह आपत्तिकालमें विशिष्ट अर्थात्‌ धनवान्‌ पुरुषोंसे बलपूर्वक धन ग्रहण करे। धनके अभावमें वह किसी तरह कष्ट न भोगे

bhīṣma uvāca | kṣatriye saṁśayaḥ kasmād ity evaṁ niścitaṁ sadā | ādadīta viśiṣṭebhyo nāvasīdet kathaṁcana ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “ในกรณีของกษัตริยะจะมีข้อสงสัยได้อย่างไร? สำหรับเขานั้นเป็นที่ตัดสินเสมอว่า ในยามวิบัติพึงยึดเอาทรัพย์จากผู้ ‘วิศิษฏะ’ คือผู้มั่งคั่ง ด้วยกำลัง เพื่อมิให้เพราะขาดทรัพยากรแล้วต้องตกอยู่ในความคับแค้นไม่ว่าประการใด”
