Daṇḍotpatti-kathana (Origin and Function of Daṇḍa) — वसुहोम–मान्धातृ संवाद
नीलोत्पलदलश्यामश्नतुर्वष्ट श्वतुर्भुज: । अष्टपान्नैकनयन: शंकुकर्णोर्ध्वरीमवान्
nīlotpaladalaśyāmaś caturdaṃṣṭraś caturbhujaḥ | aṣṭapān naikanayanaḥ śaṅkukarṇordhvaromavān ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—“รัศมีแห่งกายของเขามืดดุจกลีบบัวสีน้ำเงิน เขามีเขี้ยวสี่และแขนสี่; มีเท้าแปดและดวงตานับมาก หูของเขาดุจหมุดปัก และขนตามกายชี้ตั้งขึ้น” คำพรรณนานี้ชี้ถึงรูปอันน่าเกรงขามและน่าสะพรึง—เพื่อให้เห็นอานุภาพอันล้นเหลือของภาวะนั้น.
