प्रावषीवासितग्रीवो मज्जेत निशि निर्जने । मायूरेण गुणेनैव स्त्रीभिश्चालक्षितश्चरेत्
prāvaṣīvāsita-grīvo majjeta niśi nirjane | māyūreṇa guṇenaiva strībhiś cālakṣitaś caret |
ดุจดังนกยูงที่คอชุ่มฝนแล้วซ่อนกายและสงบนิ่งในยามราตรีอันเปลี่ยว ราชาก็พึงงดการยกทัพในฤดูฝน มิให้บุกศัตรู หากพึงอยู่ในพระราชวังอย่างแนบเนียนภายใต้การคุ้มกัน ราวกับไม่ปรากฏตัว และยึดคุณลักษณะของนกยูงนั้น เคลื่อนไหวโดยไม่ให้ผู้ใดสังเกต—แม้แต่สตรี—รักษาความลับและความสำรวม
