Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that rightful sovereignty rests on a triad: personal effort and courage (bāhuvīrya), divine favor (Mādhava’s prasāda), and above all dharma. Victory is presented as ethically grounded and therefore legitimate, not merely the result of force.

Vaiśampāyana addresses Yudhiṣṭhira, acknowledging that he has gained dominion over the whole earth. The statement situates Yudhiṣṭhira’s success within the moral framework of the epic—crediting both Kṛṣṇa’s support and Yudhiṣṭhira’s adherence to dharma alongside martial capability.
