(दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठका ३ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ४५३६ “लोक हैं।) &- “&<-- ध्य £#:.१#>् नवमो<्ध्याय: उभय पक्षकी सेनाओंका घमासान युद्ध और कौरव- सेनाका पलायन संजय उवाच ततः: प्रववृते युद्ध कुरूणां भयवर्धनम्‌ । सृञ्जयै: सह राजेन्द्र घोरं देवासुरोपमम्‌,संजय कहते हैं--राजेन्द्र! तदनन्तर कौरवोंका सूंजयोंके साथ घोर युद्ध आरम्भ हो गया, जो देवासुर-संग्रामके समान भय बढ़ानेवाला था

สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระราชา ครั้นแล้วศึกอันน่าสะพรึงก็อุบัติขึ้นระหว่างพวกกุรุและพวกศฤญชัย เป็นศึกที่เพิ่มพูนความหวาดหวั่น ดุจสงครามอันน่ากลัวระหว่างเทพกับอสูร”
