Śalya’s Consecration as Senāpati and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira (शल्यस्य सेनापत्यभिषेकः)
ततो दुर्योधनो भूमौ स्थित्वा रथवरे स्थितम्
tato duryodhano bhūmau sthitvā rathavare sthitam | yatra mitram amitraṃ vā parīkṣante budhā janāḥ ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—แล้วทุรโยธนะยืนอยู่บนพื้นดิน กล่าวกับพระราชาผู้ประทับบนรถศึกอันประเสริฐ—ในกาลที่บัณฑิตย่อมพิจารณาและทดสอบว่าเป็นมิตรแท้หรือศัตรู. ท่ามกลางแรงกดดันแห่งธรรมในสนามรบ เขายกการกระทำที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้นให้เป็นบททดสอบชี้ขาดแห่งความภักดีและการเลือกฝ่าย.
