भारत! उसके मनमें निरन्तर इसी बातका चिन्तन होता रहता था कि “इन बेरके फलोंको हर तरहसे पकाना है! ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
bhārata! tasya manasi nirantaraṃ tad eva cintanaṃ bhavati sma—“imāni badaraphalāni sarvathā pācayitavyāni” iti ||
sā tanmanasi kṛtvaiva maharṣer vacanaṃ śubhā |
apacad badarāṇy eva na cāpacyanta bhārata ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—โอ ภารตะ! ใจของนางหมกมุ่นอยู่กับความคิดเดียวไม่ขาด—“ผลพุทราเหล่านี้ต้องทำให้สุกให้ได้ทุกวิถีทาง” นางผู้มีลักษณะเป็นมงคลยึดถ้อยคำของมหาฤษีไว้ในดวงใจ แล้วปรุงแต่ผลพุทราซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่า; แต่โอ ภารตะ ผลเหล่านั้นกลับไม่สุกเลย
